Failed to initialize the project rome

Hey guys.
So I just downloaded battlefield bad company 2 RELOADED. Installed the game, did not apply the crack, Fully updated to version R11 v795745. Dragged the contents of the bfbc2 server r30 full into the game root, downloaded and dragged the project Rome hook into the root folder. Uninstalled repeated the process 3 times and still nothing but the ' Failed to initialize the project Rome client. Unknown server detected! Please verify the integrity of your files.' Message. Server is on green.... What could be the problem? Many thanks in advance.

Either he wants to create a server or not. But the 'serverfiles' are pretty much the same as the client ones

... Because I want to create a server? Sorted it now anyway, ditched the server files and just used the hook. Thanks.

You probably had an older dinput8 in the server files and when you put it in your folder, it replaced the client dinput8. Bottom point - download Dinput8 and put it in both server and client folder

1) Install game from Steam
2) Go to game's directory
3) Download
this file 4) Open it with
WinRar5) Unpack file to game's directory
6) Tell your friends you are a cool kid
7) Learn to read
8) Play the game

Same problem with me too. I used to play this game on Windows 7, but on my Windows 8 Ultrabook, im unable to get around this error. Had no error earlier when i used to play this game. Downloaded the latest build of the client, still nothing. Probably the servers are down. Can a downtime affect this? Im also pretty sure i installed it correctly and did not apply any crack etc. I did patch the game and copied the client.
I didnt wish to start a new thread so commented on this only.. Thanks very much !!
