In my opinion it's hard to decide about maps and gamemods, if we don't know how many clans with how many players will participate.

So, what do we need imho?

1. Infrastructure
a) Announcement, Scorecards, Results, Clans participating
Recommendation: On EN-Forum (if it would be fine for the staff)
b) Gameserver, TS-Server

2. Organization
a) Planning/scheduling games, "referee", publishing results
b) Prepare/prearrange maps to play on (different types depending on number of players)

Those two steps can be done for Rome and most similar Venice, too.

-------------

DU4-View :)

- We are ready to take part, we will be able to join with a 8-player-team
- We could provide infrastructure (gameserver and TS-server)
- We would like to be involved in all steps of organization

Maps:
As we can play with a 8-player-team and we are in need for uav I would suggest a map like heavy metal (advantage: There would be no need for modification the map, every player should be used to it). DU4 would prefer all kinds of vehicles in that map, as a 16 player match (8 vs 8) is ready for that.
If matches would be organized with less players per clan (e.g. 4 players) I totally agree with mizudg for the need of a small area map with uav as specator.

I find the 8v8 on Heavy Metal simply ridiculous as an idea though. A conquest map that is rather well-made for small fights is Laguna Alta, hands down. If you want another alternative - Port Valdez or Laguna Presa (default). Atacama can also work on a 8v8 set-up though the server will require 19 slots and to wait for the Spectator with the UAV to get ready. Now here's a crazy idea though -

WHAT IF we can have 2 UAVs with a little editing? That way the server capacity will be boosted to 20 players, making it a more real number; We get 2 POVs which is better than just one, if both players can record the match and edit it afterwards.

The cons however -
- The UAVs see the players and hence, can give out their positions either by V-chat or in-game chat. We need 2 non-participating in either team players who 100% won't give out positions.
- The UAVs also auto-mark enemies on the minimap and the big map which means that by spectating someone from too close, you can be giving out their location to the other team.
- The UAVs are a dead-giveaway if they try to get some nice camera shots since they will try to follow the action, thus showing where the enemy is, once again. There needs to be balance between good footage and bad position giveaways.

So they have to record all the gameplay with Fraps or Dxtory, but I recommend Shadowplay, then we will see if their helped the team or not.

Ridiculous or not, someone had to make a starting point. :)

Port Valdez or Laguna Presa are fine, too. I would vote for Port Valdez.

The idea with two uavs is quite revolutionary, but imho negative aspects outweigh the positive ones. Perhaps it would be better to make a step backwards: Do we need spectator mode in any case? Sure it would be quite more impressive to see the whole match out of one (two) bird's-eye-view(s).

Idea: What if both sides record (even stream) the game? We could see *almost* the whole game, but from two different point of views. We would not have to worry about uav revealing the enemies and so on. And we would not need any kind of modding.

What do you think? :)

1: UAVs spectate their own teams
2: 3D spotting is disabled (if it's possible: only for the UAVs)
3: UAVs try to not fly too far up so they're not visible across the whole map
[4: Disable damage on UAVs in case someone has a nervous finger]

Best idea so far. :) As fas as it is working properly we just need a "neutral" uav-pilot and off we go! :D

What map should be used? Is Port Valdez ok for everybody?
