But well, that will probably have to be decided via poll
Yes, better that way imho. It really depends on how many players will take part in the end.

The lack of a good anti-cheat (i mean come on: even PunkBuster is a joke) and a spectator-mode makes the entire idea quite fragile.
I think we should shift our focus to Venice Unleashed when it launches since it will feature at least a genuine spectator mode.
After that sometimes in the future the major Rome Update will follow and we'll see if it will feature an actual spectator mode then.
Competitive matches are quite a challenge in BC2. As we see by discussing it in different ways already. Waiting for VU is one way - waiting for VU and using the time to setup something for Rome another way.
Imho it's quite obvious, that VU with the spectator mode could (will) be the more comfortable way for competitive matches. But that is only one side of the coin. As we have seen at organizing the community event (great job done by mizudg!) there are other things to do than creating the technical requirements. There are >300.000 members at the forum, but we reached just about 30 taking part at the community event (i know quality beats quantity
).
So we could "practice" on Rome how to plan and arrange competitive matches and bring these experiences to VU to make it even better at times, VU will be online.
